NOVA'S BOARD

Pearl Livingstone, President, has been registering voters and training registrars in Cuyahoga County since 2000. Heading a group of over 60 registrars, she has organized registration drives in every general election since 2004 at Dave's Supermarkets, Cleveland High Schools, Cuyahoga County Public Assistance Agencies and Probation Departments, and Tower City. In the 2008 election cycle over 5000 registrations were sent in through her group.

Norman Robbins, MD, PhD, Research Director, has directed applied research projects on election administration and policy. He testified on election reform to Ohio House and Senate Committees, and to the U.S. House Administration Committee. He served (2007-2010) on the Ohio Secretary of State's Voting Rights Institute Advisory Council and also on their NVRA Leadership Team (to improve voter registration by public assistance agencies).

Ben Segall, PhD, Treasurer, has devoted approximately 10 years to increasing registrations of underrepresented citizens in NE Ohio. He has also studied and worked to improve the electoral process.

Nora Kancelbaum, Secretary, has worked on school registrations and at Dave's Markets registrations over the past three election cycles. She has trained high school National Honor Society members to register students in their school. She volunteers at Court Community Service and in various literacy programs in the area.

Teresa James, board member, has worked as an election advocate/attorney at Project Vote in Washington, D.C. As a result of a federal lawsuit in which she represented Project Vote, the Ohio Dept. of Jobs and Family Services now registers thousands of public assistance clients each month, a service offered to them as required by the National Voter Registration Act.

Susan Alcorn, board member, has been an Election Day observer and trained county employees to ensure that the National Voter Registration Act was implemented locally. She has been an active member of the League of Women Voters for many years.
